Morning my friends,

How’s things?

Another morning, another cracker… This morning I went down for a Bondi-Bronte run (first one in 6 months, it feels good and knees don’t hurt yet) and then took my Olympus waterhousing for a swim.

Water was incredible so no wettie, just my pair of flippers to fight the strong rip. It was packed but pretty good atmosphere in the water - people dropping on each other but all with a smile!

My apologies for the late update but I had a coffee planned with Rob Norman from Knack Studios straight after my swim. You should check them out, these guys are impressive!

Oh my gawd! What an incredible morning! The sunrise, the surf, the water temp, the number of surfers, the amount of photos I took… It’s on days like this that it’s extremely hard to leave the beach!

Morning my friends,

Hope you all had a great weekend. The weather has been incredible lately and the water divine, it’s 25 degrees. No joke, I don’t remember being that warm in Bondi since I’ve landed here 9 years ago. It’s like a bath! Go for a dip tonight or tomorrow morning, you won’t regret it!

Kick-ass, that’s how my morning started: getting my ass-kicked! For a change I’ve trained with a group of fitness maniacs (a group led by Kim from buddee fitness) that loves to get a good sweat before the sun is even up. We started at 5:45am down at the bars and wrapped up by 6:45am. Trust me, it was tough! Tonight, I’m going to sleep like a baby.

If you want to sleep like a baby too but don’t want your body in pain, I strongly suggest you to go to the New Moon Sound Healing meditation on Thursday. It’s my good friend Viktoria that is organising it. I’ve been there before and trust me this thing is good! Read my review here and book your tickets for Thursday there.

That’s it, Summer is over! It went way too fast but can’t complain really, it was a pretty good one. Today marks the first day of Autumn in Australia.

Hola amigos,

How’s everyone today?

This morning was not too shabby, it all started with some pink clouds, then pastel sky, bright sunshine and the iconic Bondi golden colour.

Lately I’ve had trouble waking up at 5:30am, probably because it’s pitch black, therefore the motivation is not there. Anyway, I went down later than usual just in time for the pink sky, did a few push/pull/abs/run rounds down at the jungle gym, then coffee at Birichina with my mate Simon, photos, swim, shower, dropped wife & daughter and then uploaded all the photos, selection and editing of the best ones, wrote this incredible blog post (that no one really reads - do you? If you do, drop a YES in the comment section down below) and posting all over the Internet (Facebook, Instagram, Instagram Stories, Twitter, Newsletter…)

Sometimes I feel like my life is a race - no wonder! ;)

Morning my friends,

How’s everyone? Hope you all had a great weekend.

Mine was superb, I went for a boys weekend with 8 mates up to Copacabana - we spent the majority of the weekend in the surf. I reckon around 8 hours between Friday evening till Sunday lunch time. Cyclone Oma, brought some pretty decent waves up there. I think they should have called it, cyclone Oma-God! ;) Hate to show-off but ehh my good mate Bruno took an epic drone video of me riding a pretty decent size wave ;)

Anyhow, today we were back to the normal routine. We trained with Paul at the bars North Bondi, then coffee with Simon and photos & swim by myself. As I was writing yesterday in my Instagram Stories, the sunrise is so late these days so it’s getting very hard to squeeze the whole routine and leave the beach by 7:15am.

Today, there were just 1000’s of surfers in the water, dropping on each other and dinging their boards. Fun stuff!

Morning peeps,

Hope you are well.

How was your weekend? Mine was pretty wild with heaps on, two 40th birthdays on both Friday and Saturday and then my daughter 3 year old birthday on Sunday and her 15 friends. Pretty full on but so much fun!

As you all know by now, the thing that I like the most about my Morning Bondi routine is to hang out with my mates, today was all about that. Too tired to exercise, just joined my good friends for coffee and swim. Happy campers!

Happy Friday as we say!

After a long lunch at Nomad with work (great restaurant by the way) and a nice dinner with my wife last night, I was a bit dusty this morning so I spent 30 minutes in the water to recover. I feel much better now, thanks for asking!

Morning my friends,

How is everyone today? Hope you all had a great weekend! Mine was just fantastic, hence the reason it’s Moan-day and not Monday.

So, we went to Port Stephens for the weekend, this place is a real gem. We did sand boarding, dolphin tour, I had three decent surfs at One Mile Beach on uncrowded waves (four of us maximum), swim at Little Beach and lunches at Shoal Bay Country Club and the new Rick Stein at Bannisters (fancy!) Thanks to all of you for the great tips, we had a ball!

This morning, it was tough to wake-up but such a beautiful start of the week… I will let you judge by yourself.

Morning guys,

Yet another cracking day down the beach!

I joined my mate Matt for sunrise, then coffee with the rest of the Morning Bondi crew and swim. On days like this it’s extremely hard to leave the beach and even to stop taking photos.

The light was just incredible, almost fluro orange at sunrise then golden, The dream of every photographers, hence why we call it the “golden hour”

Morning my friends,

Hope you all had a great weekend. How good was the weather yesterday! “Oh my goodness”, as my daughter would say!

This morning was stunning as well. I did miss the first lights and the crazy sky as I was looking after my daughter but the sunrise was a cracker, the mist, the waves, the water - Pure Gold.

One last thing, for the ones that follow me on Instagram, you might remember that photo that I took with my phone a couple of weeks ago (By the way, first time that I see a photo taken with my Google Pixel 3 printed, this phone is a bomb!). Well, I think I was on something when I started questioning when are these boats going out - the guys from the Wentworth Courier reached out and asked me if they could publish it in the magazine of this month. Right here, page 19 and it is still a mystery. Anyone?

Morning my friends,

How was your long weekend my friends?! Mine was just very chilled, spending quality time with family and friends.

KISS, who doesn’t like one?! Just joking, I was just keen to talk about what I like in photography: KISS for Keep It Simple, Stupid. Basically I like very simple photography with no effects, camera tricks and crazy Photoshop. I guess this is partially because I’m a self-taught photographer and playing with long exposure, bracketing and all of that crap is not my thing. What I like with photography is capturing what’s in front of me and making sure that when I edit the photos, it looks as close as possible to what I saw - simple stupid!

What else can I say this morning, except that today I’m pretty happy with the photographs as they are exactly what I’ve described above - beautiful natural colours, silhouettes in the sun, waves crashing… You get the gist!

Oh one last thing, for the ones that follow me on Instagram, you might have seen my incredible unboxing video that I did with my daughter (to be honest, I’m glad that she was there, it makes it bearable to watch) I’m so bad with these things and yes I do have a strong French accent while my FrAussie daughter is like “Yeah, yeah, one again show!” Anyhow, my friends Aymeric and Clarisse back in Paris have launched an amazing brand of swimwear years ago called Gili’s Swimwear and I was begging them to implement it here in Sydney. They finally did with my other good mate Charles from L’Epicerie Agency. If you like Euro style swimwear that will make you better looking than you currently are, you should check them out and treat yourself with a pair. They are currently selling on The Iconic (men & kids only)

Hola amigos,

What’s up? How warm was this morning, it was already cooking at 6am!

As every Friday (for the last three really), we did some run-swim-runs with the gang. It’s tough but you feel so good afterwards! While we only did three rounds, the Bondi Surf Lifesaving Club crew who was training next to us smashed 5 rounds. Good on you champs!

Sunrise was a cracker, water incredible, I was with most of my mates and coffee was excellent - hard to do better than this really.

Two things that I wanted to mention, the first one is last night I was invited to the launch of Alex Crane brand in Australia. From Brooklyn to Bondi, if like me you like a good linen shirt, you should either go and check them out online or in their pop-up store in Paddington (288 Oxford St.) Thanks to the talented Jeff Lack for the invite!

The second one is as you know, I have been shooting with Olympus gear for quite a while and these guys have just released the new best camera on the market, the OM-D E-M1X. This thing is shit hot! (Excuse my French!) Canon, who?! ;)

How is everyone today?

What a lovely start of the day!

For a change, I took my sexy Olympus water housing for a swim. Taking photos in the water is by far the most challenging way to capture images. When you think that you’ve nailed a shot, you have droplets on the lens and that ruins the whole shot. Fun stuff I can tell ya!

One of the things that I love the most about my morning routine is the atmosphere. Just a bunch of happy people that love to start their days by the beach. I guess that’s what we call “Vitamin Sea”?! Love to meet all these friendly and salty faces in the morning!

My apologies for the late update but I had a couple of early meetings. Another beautiful sunrise down in Paradise. Hope you had a chance to see it, if not, don’t worry I have heaps of photos for you this morning.

For a change, I went down the beach with my daughter and even went for a swim with her. It was packed with surfers, hence the ‘ding town’. I know that sharing is caring but today people were caring way too much!!!

What a sweet Friday!

It’s on days like these that I just don’t want to leave the beach. It was just too good this morning, for a few reasons!

#1 - Today is Friyeah!!

#2 - I was with four of my mates and we did some run-swim-runs!

#3 - The sunrise was a cracker and the water super-fine!

#4 - Heaps of happy people all around, ie. heaps of photo opportunities!

#5 - I met my new besties Akvile & Greta from Lithuania.

I guess that’s enough reasons…

Talking about sweet, yesterday arvo, I was invited to the incredible launch of the AllBirds Sugar Zeffers thongs in Point Pipper. The thongs are made of sugar, no joke! Morning my fellow Bondi lovers,

How good is the weather and water at the moment?! Now that’s what I call Summer!!

Last night, we went for a swim after-work with the fam. So nice to finish your day like this! Thanks to Uge for capturing this special moment with my girls. Love it! :)

The light was sun-sational last night, so I took a few photos myself. You might have already seen them on Insta, Facebook or Twitter - if not, go for it!

This morning, the light was pretty much the same but coming from the other way. Sun sets in South Bondi and rises from North Bondi. Either way, it’s such a nice show to watch!

Les archives. Another day, another rainy day… As I could see it was not raining, I ventured down much later than usual, around 6:45 am. I just arrived and a light drizzle started. What are the chances?! I joined my mates for a quick dip in the ocean and coffee at Chapter One (my unofficial gallery, they have five of my prints on the wall). Still worth going out, if you ask me… Have a great day my friends and stay warm as it’s a bit nippy at the moment. Ciao, Amo PS: I’m going camping this weekend with a bunch of mates but pretty sure I don’t have the right equipment to cope with the cold. I only have a summer sleeping bag… It’s going to be fun, they say. 🤦🏽‍♂️🥶

Rainy days. Do you know what rainy days mean? It means archive days. Here are photos from the past couple of months, most of them were my second favourite ones so you wouldn’t have seen them before. As you know, I love doing my Morning Bondi routine but it actually takes so much time. I’m talking about the photo bit especially. At the moment, I take photos from 6:30ish when the sun is up for roughly 30-40 minutes, then selection of the good photos for 20 mins, light edit the best ones for 10 mins, then write the morning blurb for 3-5 mins (I tend not to overthink this, as you can tell), then upload of each individual photos on the blog for 10 minutes, then newsletter for 5 minutes, then Instagram for 3 minutes, Facebook 3 minutes and Instagram Story 3 minutes. Basically, around 1.5 hours on average. So yes sometimes, I’m glad when it’s raining as I’m saving so much time. Have a beautiful day, despite the weather, and chat with you tomorrow, Xoxo Amo

Golden Sea. Slow start this morning, it was pretty average unless you could wait up to 8am (I couldn’t) to see the sun popping out behind the curtain of clouds. It was all about the golden reflection of the hidden sun on the water. Gold 24-carat for a few minutes. I don’t have much to tell you today except that if you live locally and love ‘Shark Tank’ TV show, you will love the local version of it. It’s called the Bondi Innovation Shark Tank organised by the @bondichamber and it’s next Wednesday at @hotelravesis You can find all the deets in the media release and book your tickets on the blog. I’m going with my awesome business partner Mary Proulx and supporting Sam Cust, one of the sharks (I think that’s what we call them). If you come down, let’s have a beer and break bread (what I love the most about our business name is that the puns are endless). I loaf you! (see) Amo

Nothing to worry about, it's just a tornado off North Bondi, ... 🌪️😲 I took this photo this morning around 9:30 am. I was shooting with @versefinejewellery in South Bondi when we saw this waterspout tornado coming out of nowhere. Scary much? Look closely and you can see the person around Ben Buckler's cliffs running for his life... That's all folks!

Pure Heaven. What another beautiful start to the day! While yesterday was all about big waves, today was all about the mad reflo on the sand - absolutely stunning. I was sitting just next to Morning Bondi HQ and was snapping like a maniac. Bombastic. OMG, what an incredible morning! It's a very late update as I had a pretty busy day and didn't have a chance to post before now. Low-tide goodness. What a stunning morning! Today was all about the low-tide gold reflection. It was just the perfect conditions for photos. The problem, only a few people out including two metal hunters. I was with fellow Frenchy @dianeperreau all morning. I reckon she’s the most popular French person in Sydney. So many people are stopping her every morning to have a chat and take a selfie with her. Have a lovely day my friends, Ciao, Amo

Into the wild. What a cracker of a morning! For a change of scenery, I ventured down to Bronte this morning. I reckon I made the right choice, it was just an incredible show. I was with my mate @paolocattaneophoto for the entire morning and we were just looking at the waves rolling in. Bronte Pool was the best place in da house. If you follow me on Instagram, you would have seen the very rare video of me talking to the camera. With @bread_agency, my agency, I recently started working with the team from @in2thewild.aus, the best tiny houses business around. In order to have a better understanding of the experience, the client kindly invited me to go for a couple of days with my wife and daughter. Real legends, best onboarding! The whole experience was amazing - especially for someone like me that is pretty hyperactive. I just ‘re-wilded’ for two days. Even though the network was working where we were, I put my phone in airplane mode the whole weekend and made the most of the experience. The tiny house was kitted with all the things that you need, all the products in there are premium and sourced from ethical brands. Let’s be honest the firepit and outdoor bath were the highlights for me. I would highly recommend it to anyone, especially if you are like me and struggle to switch off. FriYay. How’s everyone today? After two days in Melbs (Melbourne for the hipsters), I’m back in the hood. What a morning! Incredible light, the surf was ON and the Icebergs was packed - perfect for photo ops. This morning I caught up with my mate Ben, a fellow Frenchy that I haven’t seen for years. We hung out around the Bergs and finished with a swim in South Bondi - how original. Enjoy your weekends my friends. Mine is going to be pretty epic. I’m going into the wild, literally.
