Hide & Seek

Morning gang,

Hope you all had a good weekend and a great Father’s Day for the dads out there.

Mine was just brilliant, spent a fair bit of time working on a couple of presentations for tomorrow and Wednesday. By the way, please don’t expect photos, newsletters and tutti quanti for the next two days as I will be busy chairing a conference and running a few sessions too. It’s the perfect opportunity for my soon-to-be-launched Social Media Agency - stay tuned for that!

Alright enough about me, today the sun played pretty much hide & seek all morning so I played exercise & photos all morning too. It was a bit chilly but well worth waking up and braving the cold!

Enjoy your week and chat to you on Thursday weather permitting,

Amaury

Running out

Morning peeps,

I will soon run out of archive photos if the weather continues to play up like that - just joking I have accumulated terabytes of photos over the past 11+ years of Morning Bondi so we are safe.

That’s right, I’m one of the OGs when it comes to taking photos of Bondi in the morning. It started with Eugene Tan from Aquabumps, then the Frothers crew (Brad Malyon, Bill Morris and Franck Gazzola) and then Morning Bondi I reckon. All this, way before Instagram was even a thing.

Alright enough old stories, this morning was pretty 💩. When I arrived down, it was all grey and drizzling (check my Instagram Stories if you’re super keen) then 5 minutes of hope and back to rain. Super! We trained in the sand like maniacs, we got wet training, then wet swimming and coffee.

What else can I say except that Sunday is Father’s Day. If you are stuck with ideas, I have three ideas of present for you:

  1. A family photoshoot, picture yourself and your dad holding hands and looking pretty. Check some examples here

  2. A nice bottle of Morning Bondi Saltwater Gin that you could pick up directly from the Bondi Liquor Co distillery bar on Hall Street or on their website.

  3. Finally, if he’s sophisticated and fancy a day outside the office, you could get him tickets for the Dmarge House The guys from Dmarge are shaving $50 off the price for Morning Bondi Followers. VIP treatment right here my friends and I will see him there too. #Winwin

Don’t you worry, you can thank me later. 😅

Morning team,

Hope you are all well and happy hump day as they say,

Let me tell you something, this morning was a real cracker my friends and for a change I spent my morning down in Bronte Beach. The temperatures outside and inside the water were balmy, especially considering the season.

I don’t have much to say this morning but as we say a picture is worth a thousand words so here are 110,000 words for you (ie. 11 photos if you are pretty good at maths, like I am).

Morning my friends,

Hope you are well and had a good night's sleep or a great day for my overseas friends.

This morning, I went for a Bondi to Bronte run. Once I came back in Bondi, the sun finally decided to pop its face, for a brief 5 minutes and that was it for this morning.

The problem is that I didn’t have my camera with me and I was just chatting with good mate and legendary John Macarthur from Purl Harbour - this guy is the unofficial mayor of Bondi and an Australian fashion icon but too humble to brag about it. If it’s of interest, read this article written by MrTurner about him.

Anyway, back to what I was saying, only 5 minutes of sunshine that I had to capture with my phone quickly. You can find the result right there: Five minutes of Gold

Yes, that’s right, as of this morning, I’m officially a TikToker. The Instagram reach is so screwed that I need to give TikTok a go and let’s be honest I keep on recommending to my social clients how important TikTok is so it’s about time that I do what I preach.

Hoping for a better sunrise tomorrow morning, but here are a few archive photos for now.

Ciao,

Amo

Morning gang,

How was your weekend? What a glorious day yesterday, you could tell that Spring is around the corner!

After a pretty rough night, I bailed the training bit and just ventured down the beach for coffee, photos and a dip in the ocean - what I do best, to be honest.

It was pretty quiet down there but luckily they were a few swimmers around the Icebergs, otherwise it would have been photos of me, myself and I.

Have a great week my friends,

Morning my friends,

Friday under my doona is 'Fridoona’. Yes, I like a good pun, if you can even qualify this as one?!

The weather forecast was planning some rain for this morning. Lucky, no rain but not necessarily great either, pretty grey and wet. As you know, when it’s uninspiring, I don’t really bother taking photos - this bit will never change. When I started Morning Bondi, 11+years ago, I used to shoot every single day: rain, hail or shine but let’s be honest, no one wants to see a grey sky and rain.

Instead, to brighten your day, here are some of the recent photos that I’ve uploaded to the Gallery page of the site. Hope you like them.

Enjoy your weekend my friends and chat to you on Monday,

Peaceful Thursday

Morning gang,

How’s everyone today? I’m very well, thanks for asking!

During my 6-week holiday in Europe, I forgot how hard it was to come up with new things to say every day. Morning Bondi has always been a bit of my personal diary but shared publicly - #NoFilterMyFriends.

I’m always thinking that one day when I will be old and not able to come down the beach every morning, I will be able to go back in time by just reading my daily updates and seeing photos. I’m also thinking that my future grandkids will be able to read these and think that I had a capacity to talk absolute BS like no other.

Oh well… This morning, as every Thursday, we trained down on the sand and by “we” I mean “they” trained. I was just here busy taking photos and checking on them once in a while. There were not that many people down the beach - only a few brave souls freezing their butts off.

Chat to you tomorrow, weather permitting.

Morning peeps,

Hope you are all well and slept well despite all the rain last night.

Last night, I put my alarm clock at 5:40am, knowing that there was going to be a high chance of staying in bed due to the sh*te weather but guess what I was wrong. Love these type of surprises!

I ventured down for a Bondi to Bronte run, then chit chat with all the local legends: Uge, Walt, Chris, Dion and Scott. That’s probably one of the the things that I like the most about my Morning Bondi routine is to meet all these people from all walks of life. Yeah, I’m what you call a “People Person” and would always welcome a chat.

Alright enough blabla for this morning, here are the photos. The last two are goodies for the ladies. Get in touch if you want their ‘04’ - #MorningBondiMatchMakingServices are back ON!

This morning for a change, I went to Coogee Beach to catch up with a mate. In the 11+ years that I have been running Morning Bondi, besides a photo shoot of a cute family, I think that’s actually the first time I have taken photos of Coogee Beach at sunrise - it didn’t disappoint!

Morning my friends,

Hope you are well and you’ve not missed me too much for the past 8 weeks. That’s right, it’s been a long time, probably one of the longest I have ever done without posting a thing.

I’m back, refreshed, and energised after an awesome 6 weeks in Europe. So good to see my family and friends back home after 4 years - thank you very much Covid!

New Morning Bondi my friends. I’m back to my original formula: all the photos of the morning are posted on the blog, subscribe to the newsletter not to miss an update and only a few photos on the Socials. You may ask, why am I doing this? Fair question my friends! The Instagram and Facebook algorithm is sooo screwed that only a few of you get to see the photos every day and I don’t find this fair - so subscribe to the newsletter HERE and you won’t miss a Morning Bondi update ever. Pinky promise.

This morning was incredible - check all the photos below and hope you like the new formula. If not, you know the drill, you can address your complaints to customerservice@morningbondi.com

Have an awesome day and chat to you tomorrow,

xoxo

Morning my friends,

Hope you all had a great weekend. Mine was great with a lovely wedding celebration on Saturday and a few good surfs.

This week is a pretty special week. First of all, I’m starting a new job. I will reveal more in the coming days when it’s fully official. Don’t you worry!

Second of all, it’s Sustainable Seafood Week and two leading not-for-profit organisations, the ASC and MSC have joined forces to promote it. Interestingly, research shows that three-quarters (74%) of Australians believe we need to purchase certified sustainable seafood to safeguard our oceans, yet only one in ten (9%) currently do.

We can make a difference in safeguarding our seafood by shopping for products which carry the blue and green eco labels. These can be found across fresh, chilled, frozen and canned seafood items at your local supermarket. If you want to join the pledge, share a picture of you next to the water (ocean, river or even a lake) using #Seathefuture and tagging @loveoceanlovefood

I guess that’s it for today, have a wonderful week and chat to you tomorrow,

Ciao,

Morning my friends,

How’s things?

Another morning, another cracker… This morning I went down for a Bondi-Bronte run (first one in 6 months, it feels good and knees don’t hurt yet) and then took my Olympus waterhousing for a swim.

Water was incredible so no wettie, just my pair of flippers to fight the strong rip. It was packed but pretty good atmosphere in the water - people dropping on each other but all with a smile!

My apologies for the late update but I had a coffee planned with Rob Norman from Knack Studios straight after my swim. You should check them out, these guys are impressive!

Enjoy the photos and chat to you tomorrow, if the weather stays beautiful. Yep, it’s meant to rain in a couple of hours. :(

Kick-ass

Morning my friends,

Hope you all had a great weekend. The weather has been incredible lately and the water divine, it’s 25 degrees. No joke, I don’t remember being that warm in Bondi since I’ve landed here 9 years ago. It’s like a bath! Go for a dip tonight or tomorrow morning, you won’t regret it!

Kick-ass, that’s how my morning started: getting my ass-kicked! For a change I’ve trained with a group of fitness maniacs (a group led by Kim from buddee fitness) that loves to get a good sweat before the sun is even up. We started at 5:45am down at the bars and wrapped up by 6:45am. Trust me, it was tough! Tonight, I’m going to sleep like a baby.

If you want to sleep like a baby too but don’t want your body in pain, I strongly suggest you to go to the New Moon Sound Healing meditation on Thursday. It’s my good friend Viktoria that is organising it. I’ve been there before and trust me this thing is good! Read my review here and book your tickets for Thursday there.

Alright that’s enough blabla for one morning, here are the photos…

Hola amigos,

How’s everyone today?

This morning was not too shabby, it all started with some pink clouds, then pastel sky, bright sunshine and the iconic Bondi golden colour.

Lately I’ve had trouble waking up at 5:30am, probably because it’s pitch black, therefore the motivation is not there. Anyway, I went down later than usual just in time for the pink sky, did a few push/pull/abs/run rounds down at the jungle gym, then coffee at Birichina with my mate Simon, photos, swim, shower, dropped wife & daughter and then uploaded all the photos, selection and editing of the best ones, wrote this incredible blog post (that no one really reads - do you? If you do, drop a YES in the comment section down below) and posting all over the Internet (Facebook, Instagram, Instagram Stories, Twitter, Newsletter…)

Sometimes I feel like my life is a race - no wonder! ;)

Morning my friends,

How’s everyone? Hope you all had a great weekend.

Mine was superb, I went for a boys weekend with 8 mates up to Copacabana - we spent the majority of the weekend in the surf. I reckon around 8 hours between Friday evening till Sunday lunch time. Cyclone Oma, brought some pretty decent waves up there. I think they should have called it, cyclone Oma-God! ;) Hate to show-off but ehh my good mate Bruno took an epic drone video of me riding a pretty decent size wave ;)

Anyhow, today we were back to the normal routine. We trained with Paul at the bars North Bondi, then coffee with Simon and photos & swim by myself. As I was writing yesterday in my Instagram Stories, the sunrise is so late these days so it’s getting very hard to squeeze the whole routine and leave the beach by 7:15am.

Today, there were just 1000’s of surfers in the water, dropping on each other and dinging their boards. Fun stuff!

Have a lovely week my friends and chat to you tomorrow,

How was your weekend? Mine was pretty wild with heaps on, two 40th birthdays on both Friday and Saturday and then my daughter 3 year old birthday on Sunday and her 15 friends. Pretty full on but so much fun!
